Dr. Vicky always has a fresh perspective for whatever snags I have hit in life. From navigating new assignments and the promotion process at work, to making informed decisions about caring for my elderly family members and step-child, she provides great resources.
Knowing that I am being listened to, truly heard, and understood are the reasons that Dr. Vicky is who I and others (I have referred family and friends) turn to with life’s ups and downs. Through career decisions, at one point - divorce, motherhood, parenting, loss of my Mom, and COVID, Vicky has been helping me look to the future (which is now the present) with positive plans and guidance for my life and thus others in my life. Through mapping out the steps and turns (sometimes these are 180s), I and others are achieving positive outcomes. With most big changes, I am more comfortable with small steps and as I quickly gain confidence with Vicky’s support, I am able to take those “bigger steps” to make the larger changes needed in my life. I am an exceptional education teacher and realize that every person has different starting points in life, different learning styles, and different rates of growth be it academic, social/emotional, independent functioning, health, language/speech, etc. I feel Vicky is much like an ESE teacher and through “true listening” knows where to start a person and how fast to guide that person to proceed on life’s path.
A few years ago, when I went through the difficult life event of divorce, Dr. Vicky was extremely valuable in helping me navigate all the changes that were happening in my life. She patiently listened to everything I had to say. I had so many questions and concerns. She had answers and solutions. She helped me prioritize what I needed to do to work toward recovery. In a caring manner, she helped me through divorce recovery, including emotional issues, reorganizing my finances, and decorating/furnishing ideas for my home. I couldn’t have done it without her.
Dr. Vicky does not tell you what you want to hear, rather what you need to hear in order to overcome and achieve. As a college student, a college athlete, and a Type 1 Diabetic, life can get overwhelming. From moving into the real world and away from home, Dr. Vicky has helped me navigate relationships, my diabetes diagnosis, and overall life balance. Having had her own personal experiences, she has an understanding of what I am going through and offers solutions based on what I am saying and from her own experience and education. Or even if you need a good cry, no shame in that, she will listen and comfort you, then provide new ways of thinking to understand your own emotional intelligence to navigate situations that you are going through.
Dr Vicky does her best to help you figure out your life solutions but the decisions are always yours.
